New A.P.T.- Kick Bush video

My man A.P.T. over at http://aptsongs.wordpress.com/ has just put out a video for his song "Kick Bush", a remix to Lupe's "Kick, Push"... and it is another very clever and witty track. Keep on the lookout for this guy, and I will keep posting videos as he stays in contact.

New Game/ Just Blaze

There's a new song that has surfaced produced by Just Blaze that is a banger, yet it did not make the album's final cut. It's a pretty dope track, so if this is a leftover L.A.X. must be really dope.

New Luda/T.I.

Two of Atlanta's finest, Ludacris & T.I. have squashed their beef and recorded a song to be released on Luda's forthcoming LP Theater of the Mind and it is a banger, as would be expected. DJ Toomp killed it behind the boards.

Jockin' Jay-Z

During Kanye's performance the other night at Madison Square Garden he debuted a new Jay-Z track that he produced that is possibly from a Blueprint 3 album that is questionably in the works. Kanye's production is on-point and Jay sounds great. He keeps rapping hard he'll make up for Kingdom Come

Whatever You Like video

This song has been playing on my iPod all day. This is one hell of a summer song... and now here's the video. I expect this to shoot up the charts just like "Lollipop" did.

Asher Roth's first single

To all my readers- this morning at 12:05 AM boybillions.com posted this new Ash Roth track entitled "I Love College", and after listening to it myself it is now going to be available to all my readers at 12:08 AM. Now that's a committed blogger! I got work early tomorrow so I'm about to be out but this is a great feel-good joint about the college experience many of us love. Check out the track.

Game/Weezy "My Life" Video Shoot

Forget what I said about it possibly not making the album, "My Life" is the confirmed second single (I guess "Dope Boys" was more of a street single although they made a video). Here's a video of Game and Wayne out on set in East L.A. filming what looks to be a pretty grimy video complete with shootouts and graveyards. So much for a summer anthem. Regardless the song is hot and I'm feelin' Game's flow. I don't see this being big on the charts though.

Close calls:

Ludacris- What Them Girls Like ft. Chris Brown & Sean Garrett (see earlier post for link/review)

I didn't post this link when I got it a few days ago, so I'll take a minute to review. This is a very introspective track by Game who stated that all the songs on his album were "universal summer songs", so maybe this won't be on the album? I actually am really feeling this track. Contrary to most people's views when Game is emotional he sounds most sincere. I'm not really going for all the Westside gangsta rap. To be honest the depressed Dr. Dre-tribute "Doctor's Advocate" was one of my favorite songs off his last album of the same name. Weezy can't get off that autotune, but actually he really fits the mood on the song. Game's lyrics are on-point, and if you fall to deep into the mood you're missing something important that he's saying. The one controversy with the song is that in the first version that leaked to the internet Game's 2nd verse contained these lines: "You see them 24's spinnin? I earned them// And all the pictures of me and Em, I burned them// So there ain't no proof that I ever walked through 8 Mile// And since there ain't no Proof, I never walked through 8 Mile". First off, why is he taking shots at Em? Now, the real question is why did he change those lines for the CDQ version that I'm giving y'all today. He's filled up those lines with some filler and the line "and fuck Jesse Jackson cause it ain't about race now". Maybe we'll hear more about this in the future. If you're interested in hearing the early version, check it out here

Asher Roth- A Milli (see earlier post for link and review) Oh, and I'm now an even bigger fan after learning that Ash Roth is reppin' West Chester, PA- that's right up my alley.

Now what you've been waiting for: THE TOP 10:

10. David Banner- Shawty Say ft. David Banner
9. Nas- We Make The World Go Round ft. Chris Brown & The Game
8. Lloyd- I Need Love ft. The-Dream
7. R. Kelly- Skin
6. T.I.- Swing Ya Rag ft. Swizz Beatz
5. Akon- Clap Again
4. Bow Wow- Big Bank Take Lil Bank ft. Swizz Beatz
3. Chris Brown- Electric Guitar
2. Nas- Black President
1. Ne-Yo- Miss Independent

That's right, Ne-Yo is this week's #1! That song is undeniable.

Weekly Downloads:

The Game- L.A.X. leaks? I haven't checked this yet, so if anyone checks it out let me know if its the real thing. The download link can be found here.

This is a MUST download! The homie APT is incredibly talented and funny, and this is a great mixtape for any Obama fan. I've been bumpin' the "A Millie" remix that he did "Obama, Obama" for awhile now- and he's now got a video so check this out and if you're feelin' it make sure you support him and download the mixtape. Also check out his myspace and his website where he posts a new song weekly.

JD's Celebrity Basketball Game

Jermaine Dupri recently held a celebrity basketball game in Atlanta, with his So So Def family going against Nelly's Derrty Ent. crew. Kevin Hart is always a laugh.

Nas on the Colbert Report

This is a little late, but an interesting and inspiring video. I have really been appreciating the efforts of highly respected members of the hip-hop community speaking out against McCain and for Obama, and at the front of this is Nas. The more that rappers like him merge gaps between the black community and white liberals the stronger and smoother Obama's support will flow. John Legend also appeared on the show during the Spring, and both guests have really influenced the public. This was very uplifting to see. The embed's not working, so just follow the link. Oh, and if you're not familiar, Stephen Colbert is a very sarcastic person. Don't get it confused. lol.

Luda is back!

That's right y'all, the self-proclaimed "King of the South" Ludacris is back with the first single from his upcoming album Theater of the Mind, "What Them Girls Like" ft. Chris Brown & Sean Garrett. The Darkchild production is catchy and definitely radio ready, and Luda showcases his great charisma all over the beat. Call it "Money Maker" 2.0. The Chris Breezy chorus sure doesn't help his chances of this being a major hit. Look for this to be climbing the charts in no time.
